Mary Anderson was reported missing over the weekend after she did not return home from visiting friends in Hudson, N.H., on Sunday, July 17, Harvard Police said.

Anderson's family recently told MassLive that they believe she was abducted due to the "uncharacteristic" nature behind her lack of communication.

“I don’t want to think the worst, I just want her home,” Mary's mother Sheila told the outlet after going to her daughter's home. It was there she found some of her daughter's belongings as well as a Subaru parked nearby.

A female body was then located inside the vehicle Anderson was last seen driving, which was a Navy Blue, 2017 Toyota Tacoma, on Tuesday, July 19, Massachusetts State Police said.

Police are now searching for Matthew Davis, age 34, of Fitchburg, who may have information relevant to Mary's disappearance. Davis is a former boyfriend of Anderson, MSP said.

He is described as a White male, standing about 5'6," with brown hair and blue eyes, according to police. Anyone with information is asked to call Vermont State Police in Westminster at 802-722-4600 or simply call 911. People also may provide an anonymous tip online.

The investigation is ongoing.
